I’ve grown up with no artistic abilities in expressing myself with a musical instrument. Like other immigrant families, we grew up with modest means and it wasn’t until later in my late-adolescent years that my parents were able to afford a few luxuries in life. While my sister took a have at learning the violin and clarinet in her elementary years, I had a sinking feeling that it was too late to pick up an instrument amidst all the high school drama I was swimming in.
At least that’s how it went for years…not this year. I’m embarking on a new adventure and plan to take beginning piano in the fall semester at a local JC. I can’t wait.
